The PlugLine® powerline communications (PLC) Home Energy Management Service™ is part of Asoka’s line of Digital Living Services™ that carriers can leverage to help customers take control of their home environment.
The Asoka Home Energy Management service provides added value for new and existing PlugLink customers by offering energy monitoring on top of their home area communications network. This service can increase ARPU and reduce churn for service providers, MSOs and utilities and provide a higher overall level of satisfaction for end user customers.
The Asoka Home Energy Management Service enables users to manage, in real time, the power consumption of the electrical appliances and devices in their home by simply plugging a PlugLine adapter into an electrical outlet - one adapter for each appliance or device to be monitored. This adapter acts as a power meter and on-off switch, and also sends data over the home network to Asoka’s cloud-based, fully customizable software service. Users can access the service to monitor usage and turn devices on or off at any time from any computer or iPhone/Android mobile app.
The system is robust, cost effective and “future proof.” The in-home adapters have a lifetime warranty; their firmware is remotely upgraded by Asoka and the Cloud-based software services are kept up-to-date by Asoka, eliminating any need for carrier maintenance visits. PlugLine adapters offer the highest in-home networking performance in the industry (500 Mbps) and are quickly self installed by customers with “no screw drivers required” and no need for service provider truck rolls, extra cabling or complicated installations.
