Residential Solar
Asoka’s SolarLink residential solar solution uses a special powerline communications (PLC) adapter to enable solar providers to remotely monitor their installations and provide performance information to the customer a value added service.
Residential solar photovoltaic (PV) installations are becoming more and more popular and have grown an average annual rate of 51 percent in the past decade. A key requirement of a solar power system is the ability to reliably transfer performance data to solar providers so they can remotely monitor and diagnose issues without on-site visits. It also gives solar providers a way to share data with customers so they can see how much power their system has produced, how much of that they have used and how much has been sold back to their utility. -

The SolarLink PLC adapter directly connects the solar power system’s inverter and data logger to the residence’s home network Internet service through the existing electrical lines so that the system can be monitored and data can be shared by the installer with the end-user. This eliminates the need for complex cable installations, is more robust than wireless systems, provides flexibility in installation options and reduces installation costs and customer inconvenience.
